You’ve seen photos of colorful rainbows streaking across a friend’s living room, or maybe you’ve been gifted a Suncatcher but need a little more info before choosing a window. Either way you may be wondering…
What is a Suncatcher Sticker and how does it work?
Suncatcher Stickers turn rays of sunlight into colorful rainbows cast throughout your home. These transparent stickers are made using a mixture of different types of diffraction film — each holographic pattern creates a one of a kind rainbow effect when hit with sunlight!
Using one is quite simple. Peel the sticker from the white backing then place on the inside of a window that gets direct sunlight. Try an East or West facing window for the best color show!
Where should I place my Suncatcher Sticker?
Suncatcher Stickers work best on windows that get direct sunlight — preferably an East or West facing window. Placing the sticker in the top portion of the window typically creates a better color show than having it at the very bottom.
Suncatcher Stickers are great in any room of the house — bedroom, kitchen, living room, even the nursery. If you have an open floor plan, your rainbows may even span multiple rooms!
No rainbows yet?
Don’t worry, they’re coming! Suncatcher Stickers need bright, direct sunlight to really show off. You won’t see rainbows if it’s cloudy outside or during the wrong time of day for your placement. A Suncatcher in a west-facing window won’t produce rainbows until the sun is on the west side of your home.
You’ll also notice your rainbows changing through the year! As the year progresses and the Earth continues to spin at a tilted axis, the Sun seems to move up and down (North-South) in the sky. This means your rainbows may be even brighter and more spectacular during certain times of the year.
