Give Back to Wildlife

For every product sold, Stray Folk makes a donation to a nonprofit organization whose mission is focused on preserving and supporting wildlife!

Current donations are being made to the Bi-State Wildlife Hotline

The Bi-State Wildlife Hotline is a not for profit organization that provides sick, injured and orphaned wildlife with rescue, rehabilitation, and re-release services. They also operate a 24 hour hotline to provide the public with 24 hour easy access to wildlife information and resources. Services include offering wildlife coexistence education, humane conflict resolution advice, wildlife rescue services, and referrals to local wildlife resources when needed.

A Tale of Two Foxes

I first found the Bi-State Wildlife Hotline when I was searching for a way to help two mangey foxes that were roaming our country neighborhood. These poor foxes — practically bald from the mite infestation, my husband and I would see them scratching themselves against a tree or rolling around on the gravel just to find relief. Mange can be fatal if left untreated so I did a little research and eventually stumbled upon the Bi-State Wildlife Hotline.

Let me tell ya. My experience with them was fantastic. They sent me medication to treat both foxes for mange, along with extremely detailed (but very digestible) instructions on how to make that happen with no contact. Both foxes made a full recovery, and one came back often enough that we were able to see his fur coming back in!

If you’re interested in seeing photos, stakeout videos, and the actual treatment process of these two, lovingly named Big Mange and Little Mange, check out the Give Back highlight on @strayfolkgoods Instagram.

Thank you for helping us give back to our wildlife, our ecosystem, and our earth. Keep Them Wild ✌🏽
